Kindred originally started as a note in my notes app titled “nine months in, nine months out” - I wanted to make a list of all the little things I worried I would forget when I went back to work and Moya started at nursery, no longer spending every waking moment together. Over the months as the list grew, it began to feel like something bigger - and so I decided to create some illustrations to accompany it.

Drawing kindred was tedious; I made the artwork over the space of 2 days, using one brush and laboriously hand drawing every line until my wrist ached. It felt fitting that the drawings would be scratchy and all-consuming. 

This zine is A5 (148mm x 210 mm), consisting of 14 inner pages of drawings printed on 150gsm paper. 

The cover and back page is printed on 250gsm recycled uncoated paper.
