KINDRED

Kindred is a zine which originally started as a note in my notes app titled “nine months in, nine months out” - I wanted to make a list of all the little things I worried I would forget when I went back to work and my daughter Moya started at nursery, no longer spending every waking moment together. Over the months as the list grew, it began to feel like something bigger - and so I decided to create some illustrations to accompany it.

I made the artwork over the space of 2 days, using one brush and laboriously hand drawing every line until my wrist ached. It felt fitting that the drawings would be scratchy and all-consuming. 

This zine is A5 (148mm x 210 mm), consisting of 14 inner pages of drawings printed on 150gsm paper. 

The cover and back page is printed on 250gsm recycled uncoated paper.
